Last week, I mentioned that I am working in my official capacity as a BibRave Pro to promote races that I know are worth talking about. One such race is the Houston Hot Chocolate 15K & 5K. Personally, they had me interested at the mere mention of chocolate. But I also learned that this race is going to benefit two charities that are doing great things around the country and within Houston. Here’s a closer look at both:

Make-A-Wish: I have seen first hand the joy that this organization brings into the lives of young children and their families . If you’re not familiar, the goal of Make-A-Wish is to grant wishes of children who are dealing with life-threatening illnesses. Whether it’s a trip to Disney World, skydiving in Hawaii, or meeting their favorite celebrity, Make-A-Wish does just that, it works to make these wishes happen.

Greater Houston Community Foundation: This philanthropic non-profit works to improve the lives of people who live in and around the city of Houston. At the moment, that work is focused on supporting the relief efforts of those still suffering from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. The funds go to rebuilding and reconstruction within Houston and neighboring Harris County.

So there you go, a fun race in a beautiful city that supports two amazing charities. Oh, and don’t forget the chocolate! Interested? Here’s all the info you need to sign up:
